I've seen people do that and they get positive feedback. A little unfair.

@VEGAS487 just simply using a wallpaper doesn't show your potential talent, as creatively using a variety of assets combined creates a great box. I'm not trying to be bias. So don't take it as any offence.

@BacKin5Minutes I know what it takes to make a box. You can look at my other works. Plus, the back has assets like text and screenshots. As for me not taking offense, I'm not, but judging from your previous comment, that may have been what you were shooting for. You didn't say anything about the back or anything else on the box. I admit I didn't put a ton of work into this, but simply saying it's a wallpaper is not good critique. I expect more from a talented artist such as yourself. Plus, you might not being biased, but plenty others are towards people like me who aren't extremely active on the site.

@VEGAS487 He is right. The FRONT is just a wallpaper. I liked this because I love the back. the front could of done with some extra touches but since there isn't much artwork out yet it's not a big deal.

@VEGAS487 I didn't critique on the back as I don't believe that enough effort was put in to the entire box, which you also admitted to. I would prefer to comment on an complete box instead of only one half.

@VEGAS487 I'm actually with BacKin5Minutes.. You said you didn't spend a lot of time with this one. Which is sad, because the idea is to present a full on cover. So instead of feeling offended by this, you could just work on the front cover and make it "yours" and then resubmit it?

@Havok I"m well aware the box can be better and will see what I can do. I know what makes a good box, I said that already. I didn't have a great day, ok? But this isn't about the box anymore. It's about a talented user getting kicks out of enacting some sort of self-appointed justice to point out a wallpaper instead of saying that, "yes, it is a wallpaper, but maybe you can do this or maybe this". No, he just said it was wallpaper and that was it. No critique like you did or The NiceGuy and that, my friend, is shameful because it isn't constructive criticism and isn't an attempt to help out a fellow user.

@VEGAS487 I already said that it was not intended to offend, however I didn't want to give a full critique as in my eyes it was not a fully complete box. Although you are a fellow user I don't see it is required to give constructive critisism as it is clear what needs to be improved (the front, as it is only a wallpaper). I say again this was not intended to oftend.

If you dont want people to say "the Front is just a wallpaper" then dont put just a wallpaper on it. Even a little variation of color scheme is better than nothing. No matter how great the back might be, if you use just a wallpaper for a cover, then that is all people will notice because it shows laziness. So you cant expect to get comments on the back when you put no effort on the front. And BacKin5Minutes was not trying to offend you at all with his comments, that's pretty clear, but thats the way you took it because that's not what you wanted to hear.
So try to at lease change up the colors or something on the front. A little is better than nothing.

@Deividas Maybe he/she wasn't trying to offend but they weren't trying to help either. Besides, the main reason I put the wallpaper is because I saw someone else do it and they got positive feedback from others. I'm puzzled why I don't receive similar comments and it is clear to me it is because I'm not well known and I feel that is wrong. Plus, they hadn't even put up any text on the back either. It was two wallpapers front and back. It's just a little strange is what I'm trying to say.

Wow, he just use wallpaper to make a box and everyone here don't have nice things to say to him. Most of us using wallpapers or artworks to make boxes, right? I don't like the way people say: "Meh, I don't like it, they are just a wallpaper" too.
I like the box, you have eyes, Vegas, just need put more work to your boxes on the future. I'll follow your works. :D

I am really not denying anything but people should not jump to conclusions without any proof to back themselves up. So yeah, where is it? The recent wallpaper box that is getting all the praise. @mchapra The Spider-man one next to mine. All they did was put two wallpapers, lower the Saturation, add a title and some text on the back. That's it.

@VEGAS487 Yeah, the idea is, Two. They actually manipulated two different source images to create a new image entirely. While you only used a wallpaper on your front. Better evidence please? Don't call me biased, you and I both know that what they did is not the same as what you did so cut that shit out and give me a proper example.

@mchapra I know you didn't and I never asked for you to fave it. Although, if you mean horizontal when you say "dimensions" you have faved boxes like that before, but anyway, an unbiased opinion is what I want. There are others, though, that remain biased. If anything, I'd like an apology.

@VEGAS487 Oh, you think you have it tough. This cover currently has 7 favs while my Max Payne 3 cover (which I put a hell of a lot more effort into then you did this one) only has 2. :P
From my side, favs are given to people who actually put effort into their creations, not just posting filtered wallpapers with a logo. ;)

@VEGAS487 I try to try every suggestion. If it doesn't work with the design, I discard it. If I never reply or seem like I am ignoring them, that is not the case. Your critique wasn't a "critique" I just didn't have any good art and winged it. If you could only see the stuff I didn't delete you'd see that I don't brush off criticism that works or adds to the experience. Infact, you know what, here: link this is an old thread from way back showcasing how I work in people's suggestions. I've just started to see for myself if it works now. So to answer you I don't "deny" anything. You can also see this in my recent box on YoshiStar's comment. If you suggest something, and it works, or I am not aware of it: I'll take it in. I don't think you understand that "not replying" does not mean "not considering". Oh and roza already told me about it, gave me an art resource on facebook, I still could not work with it.

@mchapra That isn't the point. The point is, once you are known, you get special privileges where people don't point out certain flaws or pretend to not notice them. Or maybe you don't notice them but don't put a lot of effort to try and find them. Either way, certain box arts are getting more praise than they deserve while others aren't getting enough and are actually receiving proper criticisms unlike the more popular boxes and some Hall of Fame boxes, to be honest. Not speaking for ALL popular boxes, of course. We ARE brushed to the side. Only certain users appreciate some of our work. Of course, I don't speak for this box, I don't really like it either. This box was really an experiment, to be honest, and it worked. I'll probably delete it later.

Doesn't mean we're out to get you if we point out a flaw, and I'll be the first to say I never favorite Wallpaper boxarts, If I notice them, I remove them. You can give me this shit about how no one "understands" or "disregards" you but you need to face a obvious criticism. Your time will come. Majidblack, Ladykiller, Stevencho, all had to start somewhere here. So just sit down and wait. If you're just in it for the popularity then.. what's the point? You're not doing this as a hobby now, are you?
