Daft Punk: Alive box art cover
By avatar Bastart 49 on January 24th, 2012
print No Printable Available

A CD cover I made for school. The assignment was, to realise a design made by yourself from scratch by listening to the music of an artist or band/group of your liking.

It has to present a special tin box with a metallic layer on top, with a fluorescent 'Alive' title on the front of the CD box.

It had crossed my mind of including blue LED lights inside the tin case, but eventually in the end of the progress, it was kinda hard to achieve and scrapped it as part of the end result :/

I''ve also made a simple futuristic inlay booklet and a disc print to go with the box, which all can be viewed below:

* link (front & back)
* link (Inlay out/inside)
* link

NOTE: it's pure fictional, so these are not printable versions, because the dimensions might be off and the back and front would be printed on the cd itself, as it would be for real, offcourse ;)

Enjoy! and as always, I'd appreciate a comment about it.

I love the way you've made a blend between stars and electronical ''beats''.

Very innovative design!

So nice. The Alive title is a little hard to read, but I love the concept here.

I was kinda worried about that part :/

since I made the title myself and I wanted to include some kind of heartbeat monitor/equalizer lines and circuits/stars to make the message of 'Alive' clearer, I lost a bit of readability and it became more of a logo than an actual font, but I'm very pleased with the end result :)

I don't use to like when the artist title is not on the front cover, but for this, that looks like a smart move. Nice design, great looking and pretty sleek.

Yeah, I get what you mean.

Not showing an artist title on the front cover of an album which will be released and will end on a store shelf, isn't a very smart move (if it was for commercial purposes) but since it was an assignment for education, it was really an opportunity to be creative and not focus on the recognition of the artist/group.
