Well, guess I've finished before quite a few people, but no use letting this sit without posting any longer. Here is my box for round 2, Sweet Home, a game that was never released in America. This box I didn't like at first, because I thought I made the front look to westernized, and that's NOT my style, but then I remembered that this is supposed to look like it came out in America, so it works.

All the artwork on the front was made using real photos, I tried to make it look drawn/painted like most NES games at the time.

Anyway, hope everyone likes it, comments are really appriciated.

I feel a bit weird with the back text without some drop shadow but otherwise I think it feels pretty darn retro to me, but where are these matches being held everyone seems to be in round two of some sort of contest?

Great choice of game, and great work. It really looks legit, while also looking genuinely good.

On a related note, here is the Happy Video Game Nerd's spectacular review of Sweet Home: link

Every time i come back and look at this, i like it a little more, its a great retro piece that's been aged to perfection. It also reminds me of work done by Alex Varanese link (colour tone wise). Good work dude, i really enjoy looking at this.

PS. "Warning" is spelt wrong on the front cover, d'oh!

I'm guilty of not viewing this in full when I made my first comment, but I really have to commend you on the effort that went into your presentation. I really wanted to make mine look aged. Faded colors, worn corners, etc. I was just too damn lazy, though. Great job on that, Pan. Very impressive.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I wasn't really sure if anyone would even like this box, since it's my first real attempt at anything pre-PS1. Also I did not notice the warning typo on the front, thanks for pointing that out.

Also on a side note, the Happy Video Game Nerd is awesome, and you should all check out his videos. : ) And play Sweet Home, it's a great NES game.

Very retro, I love what you did with this one. The presentation is one of my favorite parts, as well as the worn look. Great job.

#13, Easily my favorite "video game internet TV" personality. I love that he delves into the history of the game, and gives the viewer all kinds of detailed information about the game's inception, creation, and all kinds of behind the scenes information, in addition to giving great reviews of the game. To top it all off they're all lengthy and meaty. I love that guy's videos so much.

I uploaded the printable in case anyone wanted to see what this looked like per-presentation or just wanted a look at it in better detail. Sorry, didn't fix the typo yet though.

Yes, this looks quite nice. I really like the old, beat-up effects you added to it. In a nutshell, it looks legit.

I just watched an unboxing video for Sweet home, someone used most of my box and made it real: link

@Masloff I contacted the guy who made that and he was really cool, he's going to give me credit PLUS he said he would send me a free copy of the game! : D
