I LOVE this. Honestly, this doesn't have to be an essence box. I like this cover so much more than the original and the backs simplicity works beautifully. Easily one of my favorite essence boxes. Did you make this in PS CS5?

I think the whole essence thing was a bad idea. No one really ever captured the "essence" of the game they were designing for. I'd suggest using 7sk's "Anthology" template for sanity's sake. This is masterfully done, btw. :D

I posted this right before I had to run out the door, so I didn't get a chance to post my comments:
I've had less and less time to spend on box art - well any art really - recently, so this took me quite a while. Months of on and off work. But I finally decided to sit down and complete one of my many works in progress (I have about 5 WIP at the moment).
I'm pretty satisfied with this one. Mostly the logo. I have a few problems with the back, though. Maybe if I find some more time I will fix them up. But I felt if any game was deserving of the Essence treatment, it was this one.

Also, to whoever asked: Yes, it was done in PS CS5.

I'm quite speechless with one. The style is so strong on it's own, yet all the elements come together in the spirit of the game.

I like how you also incorporated the text from the novelization of Alan Wake. I did that too.
But this box is pretty much perfect. There are so many little things like Alan falling off the cliff at the top--it's truly a work of art.
If this doesn't make MasterWorks, I'll have lost all faith in mankind.

Yea I asked if it was done is PS CS5 because I recognize the effect used on the front as one I love to use myself on graphics. Again, this is beautiful, congrats on the HOF. This deserves MW.

I'd really like to add a printable of this for you - and for the others that asked - but I don't think it would be in the right dimensions, nor would the resolution be big enough. :(
Unfortunately I made this one inside the plastic template so that's as big as it will get without sacrificing the quality. And in my book quality of almost at the top of the list of most important things a box should have. So there's a moral dilemma there, too for me.......
