You're the the king of Criterion, man.

My last Criterion cover for a while, I love doing them, but I better not over-do it. And of course, I need to finish up Mr. Frusciante.
Inspired by the offical Criterion covers for , this is basically my take at a weathered, asian type cover. As the film basically set up the future of martial art movies, it deserves its place in the Criterion Collection. It was fantastic fun to make this, on a side note.

I'll say.
You are making me want to make some criterion boxes.
The only thing I would consider changing, is blending the picture on the back into the background a little more. It seems like a Screen, or Lighten layer style could take care of that for you. If you are using Photoshop that is.

Looks really good, one of the few instances where a criterion box LOOKS like a criterion box.

Well it looks like a Criterion box because it's the same format as the Yojimbo box and other Kurosawa movies. But it IS in the Criterion Collection. On the AK 100 Box Set, which features 25 of Kurosawa's films (link

I love the work on the front cover. I do have some issues with the back cover.
Just give it room to breathe. "Feature Film" and the synopsis text could be pushed down (and try to increase the leading of the text) over that image. Special features can also be pulled down a notch and just fix up the text alignment a bit - it looks a bit untidy. Otherwise, great work.
