#2 WAT

@box
The font for some reason just ruins it for me. But very good Criterion box. Is this movie part of the collection?

Don't make me get my pitchfork and torch out. This doesn't match the style of Criterion's packaging at all. Taking a regular movie box and throwing it into a Criterion template doesn't cut it. Criterion does not put large taglines on the back of their boxes. Criterion does not put screenshots from the film on the back of their boxes. Criterion rarely includes a lengthy plot synopsis for the film. Usually it's a short summary prior to some more information about the director, the production and the specific details about the edition contained within. The Criterion Collection is all about showcasing movies that exhibit exceptional writing, directing, cinematography or acting, and the packaging focuses on notes about the production. These boxes aren't designed to sit on a shelf in Walmart and give passers-by a quick summary of what the film is about. They're designed to be a work of art that reflects the mood of the film that would appeal to a collector.

I know I'm coming down hard here, but this flood of faux Criterion boxes is starting to annoy me.

And also GB i want to point out i've never heard of the Criterion Collection (since im guessing its a only in US kind of thing), so i just tried to go something different unlike the other boxes ive seen.

While I agree that this really isn't a Criteron Cover, the design is outstanding and it looks great.

Isn't that what matters?

Like what glowblue said, it does not match the Criteron boxes' style or concept, but I do like the box's design nonetheless.

#13, I agree.
But i may change this to a normal DVD cover since people are whining about it.

# 2 and #10 Bahahahaahaha!!

While i agree it isn't Criterion's style, i do agree its a decent box at that. It's nicely composited and the only thing i would change is widening the line spacing for the blurb on the back. Otherwise, it carries the movies style well and looks the part. You get my fav.

But, in saying that, i have to disagree with the Criterion branding. Criterion movies have their distinct style for a reason, like GB said, for excellent writing, acting, cinematography, etc. While the box is excellent and, equally, i beleieve this movie is an excellent candidate for the collection, you missed the opportunity to emulate Criterion's overall styling, which is of big importance when making a box like this.

Other than that, i think you've done an excellent job.
